BROODING ON BODMIN

Whenever Ross saddles up his
horse and gallops to his uncle's house to stare wistfully at his lost
love Elizabeth, he's actually riding across the heath-clad plains of
Bodmin Moor, a wild corner of Cornwall dotted with spectacular Iron Age
standing stones.
The villages of Minions and St Breward
both feature; an old farmhouse in St Breward became Ross Poldark's home,
Nampara, while the ageing, stone-built cottages in Minions were the
perfect choice for the homes of Ross's tenants.
Both are
sleepy, unspoilt hamlets with only a handful of cottages apiece,
although St Breward is also home to the popular Old Inn Pub.
Hallagenna Riding (01208 851500/hallagenna.co.uk) offers Poldark Trail rides, which take in many of the locations.rivermeadhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01648738150709789658noreply@blogger.com
